I have a small bolt and nut on the TV cable to allow it to get to full travel at WOT, but still shifts kind of early. Is there something else I can adjust like on the tranny itself? I know it will be even worse when I put on my 3200 rpm spring

I would be interested in seeing a good close-up picture of how all this is supposed to work. I have been fighting with the TV cable stuff all week with my newly rebuilt transmission. The TV cable is adjusted all the way to the max and yet the transmission still shifts too early and sloppy.

That's a good link for a stock tranny.
As soon as you mess with the valve body it does not apply. The internal pressures will have changed with mods to the VB.
At this point it's a matter of playing with the adjustment until you get it where you want it.
I adjusted the linkage so that at full throttle the tranny shifts into 3rd at ~ 65 mph. This put my 1st - 2nd shift point at ~ 40...A little earlier than I'd like but not enough to bother me.
Light throttle has the tranny shifting ~ 18 mph and 25 mph.
I can live with that....

HOWEVER: it's still shifts into 2nd before I can even get to 10mph, and into 3rd at about 20mph or so. At heavier acceleration, my 3rd gear shift is maybe 28mph. I would LOVE it if it would wind it's way up more, but it's not doin it. Any other ideas? Is somethin pooched in my tranny?

Maybe someone else can help with a suggestion....
I had the exact opposite problem -
With the cable 'properly' adjusted at light throttle the trans would shift into 2nd at ~ 20mph but it wouldn't shift into 3rd even though the truck was going 35mph. It just hung...
At full throttle the 1st - 2nd shift never occurred. Easing up on the throttle slightly shifted into 2nd but then the 2nd - 3rd shift would not occur...
My cable shoved the trans shift lever TOO far and I couldn't get enough slack in the cable adjustment.
