Weekend project

I decided that it's time to add some air to my truck so last weekend cummins2fast and myself started to fab up some twins. I just want to say I have a new found respect for people who build their own twins! It has been a fun project, but it's hard to come up with a decent design when you work in tight spaces. I know my hot pipe looks a little unconvetional, but with the way it is routed, I have all kinds of room to fab up a 5in downpipe without having to cut a hole in my floorboard. The progress is slow since weekends are the only time I can fit the project in my schedule, but they should be done soon.

This is one of the main reasons why I decided to go with twins. I decided I needed to try to clear up as much smoke as I could before I added the 14mm head and rotor. I get a chuckle every time I look at this picture.

Exactly! That was a picture of my truck on the dyno at the Texas TDR rally in October. The turbo I was using in that picture was an HTB2 from high tech turbo. My truck can make an obscene amount of smoke, but I would rather burn that excess fuel instead of fogging for mesquitos.

Dang! The HTB2 was my next step. Guess it's not enough.

Swank,
Good eye! You have guessed one of the turbos correctly. I also want to say thanks for answering some of my dumber questions. I'll post more pictures as we get the cold pipe welded. I cant wait to go for a ride and see how these turbos respond with each other. I'm expecting them to be a little laggy on the bottom end, but they should hit hard.

yeah. just wait till you give a buddy who drives a ford a ride. that's when you'll really have some fun. or stomp, and i do mean STOMP a 6.0. and yeah, more pics. i really dig seeing all the different set-ups. i put some new pics in my gallery showing my re-designed innercooler pipe. everything fits much better now. and if you've got any more ?'s (although it looks like you've got everything WELL under control) let me know.

I think that you have the right idea there... That's the best set-up style that I think I've ever seen.

What are you pushing fuel-wise?

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. As far as fuel...I'm running some EDM's, all the usual pump tweaks, and a few that people dont talk about. I'm very eager to get on a dyno and see what kind of numbers I make with this new setup. Now all I have to do is finish.

What were your dyno numbers before? Thats going to be a sick set-up. Do you do pulls with it, or just like power?
