Water under the carpet drivers side

This is a 1993 D350 rust free truck no winters and i have water trapped under the carpet can anyone tell me the right fix. It is not from the AC. Have had some heavy rain do i need to replace the door weather seal? The weather seal is the push on type not the glue on type and i can't find the push on style. Gm door seal looks like it could work. Can anyone tell me the right fix on this. Thanks

It might be the sliding vent down by your legs leaking water in.

Thanks i was looking in the old treads and found allot of help about this problem. I should have looked this up first. It make me nuts i don't drive the truck in the snow/salt and need to keep this truck for the long haul. Thanks for the help. Looks like i will have to pull the carpet to dry all this up and ck for any sign of rust starting.

Check the top corners of your windshield rubber, mine leaked water through there tell I put some silicone in there. Had about an 1/4" from the rubber seal to the cab.

OK Thanks.
I use 3M 5200 on the boats and on things i don't want to come off for a long time goes on like silicone but is stronger and will not give up unless you put some heat to it 150 degrees makes it soft again. And you can paint it. and it can be put on under water some good s**t . Can you tell me about the Deer proof Bumper i have a 1985 W350 crew cab that needs some of that all i have is the stock bumpers.

A common problem is sheet-metal cracks in the cowl/fire-wall area, sort of hidden where the fender and door comes together.

When these cracks get bad enough, you can hear a squeeking as the two broken sides of metal work against each other.

There are numerous threads on this problem and several repair methods.

hey-Hey!!!,
The sliding vent air supply *SHOULD* drain, but if enough crud has made its way down there from the cowl it could plug the holes. Take off the vent cover and clean it out with a vacuum( among other stuff ).
cheers,
Douglas

I had a similar problem with water in my truck also. I think I have it fixed but I am not 100% sure yet. I removed all the clearance lights on the roof and sealed them up with some silicone. So far no more wet floor.

And it can be the combination of the cowl cracks, windshield gasket and the side vent being plugged which makes it that much more difficult to pin point. Thanks to the all Dodge engineers from the cost saving 70's era for stacking the deck against us on this one!

Just throwing it out there. My wet floor problem was from the previous owner putting custom seats in and leaving the holes for the old seats open, thus letting in water. I lost a lot of hair on that one.lol

I found it. Water test shows water coming in the driver side rear side window and it drips down and runs forward. When the truck is parked on a down grade it goes all the way to the drivers area under the carpet.
Looks like it comes right past the gasket in between the glass frame and gasket. Adjusted the lock lever to bring the window in tight to the gasket better but not water tight yet. I think it is time for all new door and window gaskets. Anybody try Chevy door seal gasket push on type.

The old 1973-1987 GM door seals are often swapped back and forth between the 1st Gen. Dodges.

I have seen the Dodge used on GM and vice-versa.
