So I am interested in taking my 92 above the 6 inch lift Skyjacker offers for the Diesel trucks.

I have done allot of looking on line and am interested if anyone has suggestions on how this can be achieved without blocks on the front/rear axels.

I am in the machining business so fabricating parts for this wont be a problem but I am not 100% sure the best method.

I have seen pics of a subframe for the front to give it more lift and I thought new brackets welded to the rear axel to heighten the spring might be a safer alternative to blocks?

I would like about 8 to 12 inches of lift with a body lift.

Any Ideas? Think monster truck that can take some real offroad use and abuse!

Rather than lift high in the sky,, The best of the rock crawlers will lift as little as possible, run the biggest tires they can, and trim a bit of the body, I have a 97 disco with 33" tires, no lift, long travel shocks and a little trimming for the tires, I can navigate a 60% grade down, and a 40% sideways grade, if you signifigantly lift that 1200 lb cummins, you will drastically change your center of gravity, and may wind up not being able to get where that lil ford escape just got to because you may roll over,,,
That would be embarrasing,,, Bigger isn't always better,
I have popped up and down a 30" stone wall with little effort with the disco with 30" tires, with good traction,(detroit) you can go really far!
Just my 2 cents,, Cooler to make it, that to have a flipped rig.

Call or check out National Spring don't know the web address just google it they'll build any spring you want however I'm with Pred on keeping it lower and getting the tires to fit with other means. Just my opininon jethrro

More than 6" lift on a 1st gen makes for a huge truck, it won't ride, stop or steer well.
I'm with everybody else, make it no taller than absolutely neccessary.

i have the six inch skyjacker lift on my truck with 35's and i just did a test fit with a 38in mud grappler and it cleared fine but its like everyone says it doesnt stop or steer very well

If you want to look cool, Just make blocks and lift it real high.
Personally, I think that is a big joke. I have a rock crawler truck with, I would say, no more than 4" suspension lift, 44" tires and lots of fender space.

The 38's would fit under the 6 inch skyjacker without rubbing under a hard turn or load?

Do you think a rear disc brake conversion would help?

I have got 36in Goodyears on mine now and the steering and braking have not been an issue.

The only problem is the lilft is a jacked up homeade mess and it needs to go.

I would like to get some 38's on it without cutting the fenders.

Checked out your rock crawler pics. Thats a TOUGH truck. what upgrades did you make to handle those 44's? Brakes, Steering?

ya they fit fine with no rubs on the fenders or steering links shocks etc... i dont know about a load yet cause i dont have them on my truck if your going to do it though the only way they'll fit is on a ten inch rim with at a high negative offset
