The self etching primer is fine. Epoxy is probably the best though. But you can spray over most primers with minimal issue.

Looking good...keep up the hard work!

Just about the whole world suffers the same fate, It is why many blasters use a phosphoric wash immediately after blasting, commonly called Metal-Prep.

Your self etching primer does a similar thing, though not as thorough.

Cab is off, I rebuilt the entire bottom, welded, grinded, welded and grinded. I sand blasted the entire bottom of the cab down to bare metal and zinc the surface. I'm going to use epoxy body seam sealer to fill in the welds that I created and hopefully prevent rust.

Nothing but engine and trans. I've been working through the night when I get home from work and everything has been going good. I just need to remember to moved the gas jugs out of the way in-case they explode(Although I tried to light gas on fire with a grinder and never had any luck..I forgot my matches..)

The zinc is the green stuff on the transfer case shifter. Should I fix anything while I have the truck apart? I sourced some inner wheel wells so hopefully they come in. I'll try and take pictures tonight of the cab.

Here is what the zinc coating looks like;

If you look close here, you can see where I rebuilt a lot of things, channels, floor pans and the shift console. I'm going to go back and epoxy seam seal it level.

The way the zinc works is you spray it on with a HLVP gun, then where it bubbles you need to remove that section and hit it again. I have three spots where it's soft and not hard that I need to go back and hit. Then I'm going to pick up another zinc product from eastwood to feed a tube down all the holes. Final step for me is to undercoat it with wurth body seal.
