It's not the head that gets the truck sideways at 60.

Swapping heads is not cost effective. You would do much better spending the money on a cam. I would recommend a cam before I'd suggest you ship a head off to have it ported.

The 4 valve change was probably as much marketing as anything. It makes a big difference in normally aspirated engines because more valves equal more flow potential and less shrouding. In a pressurized system, strength matters more. The 2 valve head is very tough. Machine the intake log off, porting, larger cam as Dave said, you have something nasty! (that's my plan)

Twice the valves, twice the problems. Suzuki gs motorcycle engines are still being used in drag racing today. The perfered engine is a DOHC 2 valve engine.

Nothing wrong with a p-pump 24V. They idle fine and run great. They also get great fuel mileage. I have a p-pumped 24V in my first gen. I just dyno'd at 818.5 with my cam plate almost all the way to the rear. I smoke less than a 350 hp first gen and probably have lower egt's. They may not be setting the world on fire, but you can't fault the pump. Great hp potential and they aren't tweaky like a turned up VE.

That depends on how well the VE is set up. Sure you will smoke less than a kid who throws in a set of POD's and cranks the pump, but if you set the truck up properly, than a very clean and cool 350rwhp can be achieved.

It should be possible, but I have never seen it personally.

my truck runs fairly clean and is close to 350, not quite there but close.

made 320 on the dyno but had less tq than my 315/806
