uneven brakes
i know i have posted this a few times but i have had other problems that needed fixing before i got back to this. here is the deal, the truck will brake a lot harder with the rear brakes.
parts replaced:
brake booster +master combo (3 times)
Proportioning vavle (the pin was popping out everytime i hit the brakes on the original, "new" one if from a junkyard but the pin stays put)
Entire rear brakes, upgraded to 12x3 inch shoes and Dodge 1 ton wheel cylinders (1 3/16th bore i believe)
i am pretty sick of it and am considering this...
Adjustable....
any suggestions?

on the old PV the pin would pop everytime i hit the brakes. now it is designed to pop out if there is low pressure (i've heard) if the Master Cylinder isn't pushing as much to the front lines could that cause the pin to pop out? is there a way to test if the master is pushing the same pressure out of both ports?

I think the add on proportioning valve is a good idea.If your original shoes were 2.5 and now you have 3.0 you have a lot more brakeing area that the factory valve can't compensate for. I pulled the ABS plug on mine and finally have rear brakes but if it gets to be to much of a good thing I'll put one of those adjustable valves in also.

After talking with Dave we decided that it's not the rears working overtime it's a lack of front brakes. i am gonna put a good set of pads on the front and clean up all of the slide and coat them with some anti-sieze. i will probably add the adjustable thing for when i am running around empty.
