Hi i am wondering what a good turbo would be for my 1st gen 12v cummins. I'm looking for a good whistle without having to buy a bunch of new parts foe the truck. Send me your suggestions

Welcome to DTR.

For what you see, to be looking for, I would recommend a 2nd gen turbo and remove the silencer ring.

It might help if you tell us what year 1st gen 12V you have so we know intercooled or Non..

You will need to clock the turbo to use it on your non intercooled truck.
Check out The Hungry Diesel's web site for the crossover tube they sell that will make the swap go smoother.

I'm working on massaging the the compressor outlet to adapt it into the stock crossover using a 2"-to-2.5" silicone reducer.

Maybe not be the ultimate in performance, but it will be a very cheap mod.

That's what I did to mine. I can't help feeling that there is some reduction of boost through the restriction. I used a wh1c which is the h1c with a waste gate and a faster spooling turbine in the exhaust. The compressor has a larger inlet so I used a rubber angle and a aluminum tube to fit to the stock rubber tube from the air filter. I cut off the rubber tube some to fit the larger aluminum tube.
