Turbo Sound

Hey everyone, now I'm sure that this sort of thing has been gone over several hundred times, but I can't seem to dig up anything about 1st gens on the subject. Since I'm a young and dumb kid I want my turbo to whistle very loud like it is on straight piped 6.0l fords, I haven't found a thread about this on 1st gens and I'm really curious about different ways to do it. So here I am asking you guys what are some tips/tricks to make my turbo whistle louder. I also found a video about a really nice sounding 4th gen.
I wish my truck sounded more like that. Thanks in advance.

you can do a 4'' exhaust and a bahf air filter. but too really get good whistle you will need a turbo off a newer truck you can pull the silencer ring out of the turbo. a hx35 off a 2nd gen or a he351 of a 3rd gen have them.

They make BAHF air filters for stock turbo 1st gens? Would I have to rig one to make it work? My truck currently has 4" exhaust that goes up to a 5" stack would it sound the same? Would it only work if I swapped out the turbo as well? Sorry for all of the questions but I honestly have absolutely no clue. It doesn't have to sound exactly like that I just want the turbo to be a lot louder than it currently is. Thanks in advance again.

Stock one yes, exhaust housing is to large and compressor wheel a bit small.. you could put a smaller housing and bigger wheel. However It might be cheaper to just swap out to another turbo, to get the sound your looking for.

Alright, thanks. I guess this is going to have to wait for a while as I just spent a bunch of money on wheels. Also do you know if I would need a BHAF?

Thanks, might check the local scrapyards for a 6.0 or 3rd gen or something. Thanks for the help.

Are you just wanting more whistle out the exhaust or just a louder turbo in general? The loudest bolt on turbo Ive personally heard on a 1st gen is an hx35 with a 4" exhaust cut off behind the cab. The he351 is louder through the intake but doesn't have much whistle out the exhaust. An hx40 might make more noise idk.

edit:
Just listened to that video. You don't want your 1st gen to sound like that. A guy down my street has a similar set up and its sounds like a muffled hair drier with a little bit of rumble mixed in.

My truck has a muffler on it. Most of the noise it makes comes from the tires.

I like the growl, but that is way too much whistle.
