Turbo question what do I need for replacment

Well I think my turbo is going south for the spring. The PO had changed the origninal turbo to a 12cm and the wastgate is non functional. I love the set up of the current turbo and want an exact replacment. How or what do I order. If he changed it from an 18 to a 12 did the housing only change? Where is the best place to order a Reman or New turbo in PA, or online. Thanks I will get all the numbers off the housing also. Please I need help.

you can just rebuild it as long as there is no major rub marks on the housing or broken parts have you checked it to see if its worn out? is it a banks power pack?

No, it's not a Banks. It is a Holset housing, but the numbers are very unclear on the number plate. I am going to check the housing for marks shortly when I pull the intake hose off. I can check it by moving the turbine shaft back and forth and in and out, correct?

i was thinking it was a banks power system because of the 3 1/2 inch exhaust and housing, i've seen one with stock compressor housing.
move the shaft, and turn it to see if it touches anywhere.

As long as you can't feel and end-to-end play and you can't make the compressor scrape the housing, the bearings are OK.

Why do you think the turbo is bad?
