With bigger injectors in the future, I wouldn't waste my money on upgrading the H1C. You will need a bigger turbo with bigger injectors, in order for it to stay cool, especially whioe towing.

What injectors are you thinking of going with?

Not really sure yet. I was thinkin POD's cause of price but I'd prefer something larger like 6x14. Maybe, but thats a long way off. I'm gonna wait on larger injectors until I save up and find some twins& studs. For now I'm waiting to get a Fass off of a 3rd gen I'm building for a friend. Im gonna upgrade my H1C and I'd like 60mm but it's out of stock at GDS. You think 58mm would be ok.

If memory serves me correctly, an HX35 has a 58mm comp. wheel, and you could probably get one cheaper than the GDS upgrade. (They may be 56mm though...)

but it should still get rid of the surge issue, it has the MWE slot

Don't rule out a fueling issue.

This happens to every turned up 5 speed 1st gen with a small turbine housing and a stock turbo. It's nothing new and it's not a fueling issue. A compressor with a MWE slot will stop the surging.

I've got a gds 60mm on the way for this weekend.

By the way how much boost is a stock head gasket good for? Just curious.

Must be why mine's studdering like Mel Tillis after "MESSIN" with the VE today...Bottom end is alot better.. Don't have to stick my foot through the floorboard to get it to move...

Depends on the truck. I have seen some hold 60psi for months with a retorque and others blow at 35psi.

I personally would try and keep it under 35psi .

they'll still surge if you drop down to low in the rpm while towing

Seems like alot of us don't know what the MWE slot is or where it is. Some of our turbo gurus on here needs to give a forum class on turbo stuff. Anyways blue92 hope you get-er-goin your way. Good luck.
