Looking to swap in a hx 35 what size housing sould I go with or do I even get a choice. I know you guys say one of the best performance mods you can do is go to a smaller housing and I am going to do that but I just come across a hx so if I can get my hands on it I will but if I do or don't what size housing sould I get. Mine is an 18. Would I see alot of difference going to a 16 or should I go with a 12 or 14. I have the three speed so I would think I dont' need a lot of top end. 85 mph is top going downhill.
Thanks
Heath

i have had good luck with the 18s, i did a 16 on my first one and didn't notice much differance on spool up. a wastegated 12cm for a 95 on up would be quick, but not free. and you would need to build a new down pipe for it. i suggest you max out the fuel pin and go from there,

An HX-35 will most likely come with a 12 cm wastegated housing. I'm very happy with the 12 cm housing on my truck, spool up is nearly instantaneous. Whether you want to go with something bigger like a 14 or 16 is going to depend on what you use the truck for and how much more fuel you want to add. If you're going to leave the fuel alone and you don't tow real heavy stuff, I'd highly recommend the 12. You will need to move the downpipe back or shorten it, the wastegated housings are about 1.5 inches longer.
