Okay new update. It appears it was two separate issues. I seem to have fixed the transfer case issue as it has now shifted out of whatever gears it was stuck between and shifts freely through 2wd-4wd etc.

I seem to have lost reverse on the transmission? Forward drives work. Neutral moves the truck forward just like drive usually would. Drive - 2 - 1 gears all work. 1 keeps it in first .. 2 keeps it in 1-2 and drive seems to have all 3 gears. When attempting to move the linkage by hand under the truck I can only shift through Drive and Neutral. I can't manually shift it to Park, Reverse, 2 or 1. With the truck on and shifting the column to Reverse it seemingly goes into where reverse would be on the linkage but the truck doesn't move and acts like it's in park. I'm so confused lol

When you were trying to manually shift the trans, did you have the steering column-to-transmission linkage disconnected?

Sounds like either your shifter is out of adjustment or you possibly have a valve body issue.

It sounds like you may have a slipped direct drum in the front of the trans...

Yep, it sounds like the selector lever has come loose on the shaft and jumped a spline.

Just curious...how did you come to that conclusion?

Are you referring to a front clutch and/or direct clutch failure? I'm confused on how you could slip a drum.

No reverse (drive ranges ok) are usually attributed to one of the following:

shift linkage adjustment
rear band adjustment
valve body malfunction
rear servo or front clutch malfunction.

Creeping in neutral can also be attributed to shift linkage adjustment and/or valve body issues.

Okay I have no understanding as to what is happening here and why
Flushed the transmission just for the hell of it .. truck was still running in drive gears so I drove up a little to park better and heard a big "clunk" that shook the truck. Suddenly I now have reverse! But the drive gears that once worked well D-2-1 and seemingly had no issues are now severely bogged down. Like slipping, what the heck now? Reverse works fine! Neutral doesn't creep anymore .. Not bogged down at all or slipping in R. It's like the truck is just playing with me

The linkage inside the trans has slipped. Drop the pan, you will see what's wrong.

I just dropped the pan when I flushed it. Do I need to drop it again?

Yeah, you need to check out the manual linkage very thoroughly. Something has come loose and the manual valve is not in the right positions.

Is there anywhere that gives detailed information on where or how to do this? I know very little about what I'm looking at under here and I don't seem to be making a whole lot of progress. Like I said, the reverse is working - i just have no power in any forward gears.
