truck shakes?!

the violent shaking is your shackle busings on each end of your leaf springs. When you hit a bump it cause's your axle to move back and forth via the worn busings. Get your springs rebuilt.

OH MAN, sounds like you have the "DEATH WOBBLE" its caused by bad king pin bushings. Let me guess, it only happens at speeds around 20-40 MPH and you never know when its gunna do it??? The "Death Wobble" is a Dana 60 thing, us offroad guys see it a lot because bigger tires wear the king pin bushings faster.

King pins shake with or without braking. Diving to one side would likey be a caliper grabbing/partially seized piston, pulsation thru the brake pedal is warped rotors.

How bout an update?
the times it doesn't shimmy it stops nice w/o any pulsing... other times if I let go of the wheel while its shaking it just goes back and forth like mad! I have noticed it can be set off by hitting a bump during braking... odd.. but never when just driving normal.. only under braking.. sometimes..
So, bjerauld (if you're still out there) what was the final solution? Tie rod ends? rotors? Kingpins?
My tires are new, just replaced the drag link, rotors were turned a couple years ago. Box is tight, no frame cracks. Truck has about 175K with no hard service.
