Truck pulls when braking

When i hit my brake pedal my truck pulls hard to the left. I have some ideas what it could be, but I want to see what you guys think.

Worn tires or stuck caliper is my guess.

The tires on brand new. I was thinking that it was a frozen caliper, but wanted to see if there was anything else it could be.

Check your control arm and strut rod bushings. Slop there will cause pull on braking sometimes.

Usually, for me anyway it would be the caliper in the direction it is pulling. Just replace it with a rebuild one for $20. Flush out the old brake fluid, all the way around.

An internally collapsed rubber brake hose will cause a pull just like a stuck caliper. Jack up the front end, if you feel one wheel dragging when you spin it crack the bleeder screw to release any pressur in the hyd circiut. If the wheel spins noticably easier it`s probably the hose if it`s still tight the caliper piston is probably stuck. If it were me I`d just replace both, cheap insurance against having to bleed the brakes twice.

$20 for a caliper are you kidding me? I've never priced one out but I doubt its that low especially up here in Ontario

Under psi,

Yes, they are cheap. Those same calipers fit alot of other applications besides dodge!

Don't know how the 2wd are set up, but if it were my truck, I'd bet the right caliper is hung up. After driving it a few miles, you will probably find the right brake is real hot. Now the right brake will not work because its faded out. Now when you put the brakes on the left brake is the only one working.

This happens on my 4x4's more so after its been in the mud. All I have to do is pull the calipers off, clean and lube the slides and hardware, and all is good.

I've never experianced a bad hose, but have heard it a lot. Good luck.

Michael
