I'm making my truck 4x4 and want to make sure that I'm ordering the right parts to make my 2wd tranny to 4x4 . I know I got to change out the main shaft. And tail housing.do I have to change out anything else?

Well you will need to swap out the front cross member with a 4x4 piece...and then all the spring brackets etc. You will need a 4x4 cross member for the tranny, and either a 23 or 29 spline transfer case...depending if you you have an auto, or manual tranny. Drive shafts will have to be made...or found for you application.

Not a quick or easy job. I'm in the process of doing this to my crewcab.

i'm almost done with it,just rebuilding my motor while i have it out,but i just asking about my tranny it 5 speed 2wd getrag.i found a 4x4 main shaft to put in it and tail house off 4x4.its that all i need to convert my tranny to 4x4? and how to i add my truck information

Hey td3620. Go to your User Control Panel (under the User Cp in the above menu) and under "Settings and Options" you'll see a link for "Edit Signature". Click on that and just fill in your truck info and click save. I just joined so I'm still learning all this stuff too.
