Transmission oil pans
I am thinking of putting a extra capacity oil pan on my A518 tranny something like the mag-tech with two extra quarts of oil capacity. I am wondering if they work as well for $200.00 as a under the bed cooler with a fan? There is also another supplier that has pans with little air cooling tubes in them for about the same amount of $$$$$. What do you think is the best option? I know that the TC are loose in these and the VB can be improved I am just trying to get the max life out of the current tranny pulling heavy, at least untill next spring.

A cooler with a fan would be much more effective than either pan. Extra capacity doesn't keep the trans cool, it just takes longer to heat up or cool down.

EDIT!
I gave the wrong part number for what I got
Try the 4 quart model from B&M ~ http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
Your basic aluminum 4 quart pan. Works just fine.

Stay clear of gasser trash. "Finned. Designed for passenger car applications only." I've seen Summit's +2 quart trans pan- it sure looked the same size as our diesel trans pans. The big name brand +2 quart diesel trans pans dwarf this Summit pan. As always thats FWIW.
