transmission
I drive a 1992 w250, I noticed my transmission didn't shift into 3rd gear while driving to work this morning. I live in Atlanta but work next to the airport about 40 miles away, I was about halfway to the job when it finally shifted. Got a decent power surge from the truck when it happened. I checked the fluid, level was fine but now I don't have any idea what could be going on. The fluid is about all I know about transmissions. I drive an automatic by the way. So, any ideas? If I need a new one, who carries transmissions for our trucks anymore? Any thoughts on having it rebuilt? There's an AAMCO a few miles from the house. Please let me know.

I'm not sure exactly which gear it was but I did push my overdrive button thinking maybe that would help. The light never came on but then again I also have an electrical issue where sometimes dash lights work and sometimes the don't. You think maybe its a loose wire?
