The VB basically is a shift kit except its totally redesigned. an aftermarket valve body already has a "shift kit" in it to answer your question. I've been doing my homework about trannies.

The kit you want is a a TFOD-HD2. I had this installed in my 2wd and it was great. Very easy to do, as long as you have a steady hand with a drill. This is the most complete kit I've found for these trannies and can be had for right around $100.
