tranny coolers

did the 1st gen trucks come with stock tranny coolers? my 93 has one under the drivers side right behind the cab. reason I ask is it is now leaking really bad. I don't tow al all with this truck and it is only a daily comuter. could I just bypass the cooler?
thanks

no problem, I have bypassed mine by just hooking the two lines together. There is also a cooler up front by the radiator. If you dont tow your probably better off not using the under bed unit. my trans temp guage usually barely gets off the 140 mark with the xtra cooler and runs around 170 with just the front cooler.

i need to do that because it is losing a lot of fluid. the truck was used to tow a 5ver for most of its life but the most it has seen in 3 years is 3k pounds

I actually cover mine in the winter to help trans temps go to normal.
