im trying to find out what trans i have any ways to know would be appreciated. it is a 3 spped with an od im tryin to find out because im gonna get a new torque converter

I would recommend calling Hughes for a converter.

Just some things for you to think about.

While you have the trans & engine separated, change the flexplate to the 94/95 year version, Cummins p/n 3946161, which is much stronger. It's a real pain to take them apart later, and with the power you're throwing at the flexplate, it's going to go someday (mine just did - in a small town in Mississippi).

Make sure you've got enough trans fluid cooling - heat is the killer of transmissions.
