Top speed ?
I really had an oppertunity to open her up today on the freeway today, was heading towards 90mph with quite a bit of pedal left to go.I did notice when I stand in it that it takes awhile for the o/d to kick in,actually it feels like it's defueling.Do you guy's think I need some adjustment in the cable?Your input is greatly appreciated. unclemarc

It probably is defueling if you have the stock gov spring. Toss in a 3200 spring and report back to us, if you're man enough to go over 90 MPH (I know I barely am)!! For fixing the O/D shift point, look here:

Looks like a great idea, but I haven't tried it yet. Maybe tomorrow if I'm bored.

When I ran mine on the dyno at Diesel Thunder in August - it buried the speedometer in 5th with 3.54s. I know that I won't drive it on the road at that speed so I guess this is the next best thing.

Yea I gotta agree with you on going that fast but I had clear road ahead and the mood struck me just right, plus after the front end rebuild it's so smooth you really don't notice the speed. unclemarc

I know I'm going to catch fire for this. But a week or so ago I got onto the freeway and a 2005 camaro wanted to play with the old smoker. so after running past the little guy twice, thats right I let out of it and embarassed him a second time. I looked down at the speedo and was going about 115 mph. I'm not absolute positive of the speed, but after looking at where the needle was 115 was a good guess. And in all seriousness the truck handled real good.OK guy's give me heck for driving that fast.

My truck fill better at 80 then it ever did a 65!
after i installed the Gear Vender overdrive i pusted it to just over 100,and it felt grate!
the handling of the truck at high speeds isn't what bothers me. its the stopping power after you let off that long skinny peddle, cus of that car in front of you, with them flashing light rack on top

AFter the injector install, all the rest stock, I hit 98 with my pickup (BEFORE front end rebuild), and backed out of it- vibrating too much. Had about an inch and a half of pedal left. So I figure 105 is about it for mine.
