Timming and DDP3's

For all that are running DDP3's; where do you have your timming set? I'm guessing 1.70-1.80MM (and another diesel head buddy is guessing that range too). But that's a guess with pervious experiments on other injectors. Was hoping to just learn from others mistakes cause time will be limited once they hit my door step.
Thanks in Advance
Justin

I think it depends on how many turns on your fuel screw you've gone. You might drop '3's in there, but if you had a stock fuel setting, (not that you would ) then you won't need as much timing. I guess starting with 1.8mm and going from there... you're not going to hurt anything.

New DDPIII's or Old DDPIII's? Extra timing is benificial to us anyway. I've never checked mine, I just bumped it 3/16".

New, the biggest ones that you can get without going to the customs.
I kinda figured that is what most guys have done. They are going in today after work and I'm going to try the 1.75mm and see how it runs. Then test it tomarrow on the rollers. DZLDamon have you had your truck on the dyno, out setups are real close besides the tranny, I'm hoping to lay 250-275? But my hopes aren't that high. My biggest hope is not to bust anything! LOL

Ok they are in. Set of the pants is holy....! Pyro climbs fast but drops off good in top end. 4th gear is crazy fast. Poor little 351 is way out of it's map! I let out at 48 and I was only at 2800rpm. Best part is I backed the fuel screw out 1-1.5 turns! So I still have lots of fuel left! Next on the list is bigger turbo! I'm thinkiing a Garrett...Idea's?
Will post up dyno results sat afternoon. Gonna be a big group there last count I heard was 16 on the rollers and lots of on lookers. Hope the head gasket holds!!!

Hopefully you lay down your 270 or more man. However I have the OLD DDPIII's. And a LOT is lost in that tranny of mine!!

My only comparisson is seat of pants to the utility truck. It did 208hp with the parking brake on, and the dually really rips. So I figure without the terrible tranny losses I have, and the bigger sticks you should be in the 300 range.

Leave the HE351, and add a bigger low-boost unit.

Got to see a lot of really nice trucks and meet some great guys! Good Times...And nothing broke=great day! Best part of the whole deal was watching everyone on the street on the way out of there to lunch. Well kinda watching them...what I could see through the black wall. LOL

I was scard! My truck shakes like heck over 90 MPH. And I've deloped a unexplanible noise in 5th gear? I'm kinda scard it's 5th gear falling off like all of the horror stories of the nv4500. I will pull it apart and check it out...soon.

4th seems like a better way to do it... you can compare to the non-od guys then too. id like to get on a dynojet and see what difference it makes.

good numbers!
