Timing shim install
Just finished installing the m&h timing spacer. A few observations.
1- remove the battery, it makes your life a lot easier.
2- you will spill diesel fuel, you may want to put something down to catch it.
Now for a quick question, I reached into the recess where the shim goes, I felt a shim in there, placed the m&h shim between the spring and the factory shim. After I finished, I found a shim on the ground, same diameter as the other two shims, but it was only a 32nd of an inch or less in thickness. It obviously fell out when I did the install, but does it have to go back in?

I found this thread about the M&H spacer.....good read.

To answer the original question about the extra shim, yes you should re-install it. Otherwise your KSB will not be working at the factory settings. The spacer is there to give advance at higher RPM's, so if you are missing that washer your low RPM settings will be off.

I had emailed m&h alittle over six weeks ago about purchasing a timing spacer and fuel pin, and I was told they would be doing a production run in a couple of weeks. So I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything???

Unless it's untaxed, then it's red.

Well I bought one two weeks ago, and got it in the mail that week. Just pick up the phone and call them. They will send you a paypal fund request, send them they money and that's it. Install should be 20 min, yes take out the battery and maybe even the IC pipe.
I like mine, most noticable at cruising speeds on the highway. Takes less throttle input since the "dynamic" advance happens for you

So make sure you remove all of the old o ring in the ksb
There is mutiple shims from the factory
So far it seems to have picked up on the high end, but until I figure out this vibration in the rear, I won't be able to really test it

Mine only has two shims/washers, both the same thickness and both together a lot thinner than the shim/washer supplied in the M&H kit. I had to take it back out after a week because it made the engine run very bad. Never did figure out exactly why, still trying to figure it out.

Mine ran poorly until I figured out the o ring was still partially in the ksb, I took a few attempts to get the shims to sit flush, but once they were in, itvseems to idle the same
