tic tic tic sound?????????

Anyone know what might be causing a tic tic tic sound from the front end at low speeds? have recently replaced brakes pads, tie rod ends, steering dampner shock, and pitman arm. I only hear it at low speed and seems the intermitent ticking is directly related to vehicle speed. at high speeds it is either gone or i just can't hear it over the engine. It only makes the noise while in 2 wheel drive, SWITCH TO 4X4 AND THE NOISE GOES AWAY. iT'S DRIVEN ME nutz. aNY HELP ON WHERE TO LOOK WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

THanks,
mt

If the noise is not present when the hubs are locked, I would think one of the locking hubs is the culprit.

my guess is your brake pads jumping, .... you probably cleaned out the caliper and greased the slide surfaces so there's room for the pads to jump a bit. If so it'll stop when the debris builds up again.

THanks for the replies. I took the hub covers off and they look good and pack with fresh looking grease. But it sounds like diesel dawg said. guess i'll really take the hubs apart tomorrow and repack em and see if that does the trick.

I don't know, this might be an ignorant question but do you have rocks in your tread?
