You do an overdrive swap and the mileage of the o/d-3.07 combo is awesome.
I gave 6850 for my rig with 85k on it 5 years ago if that does anything for ya.

That doesn't seem too bad. I searched this site and a few others and found pretty much all year model 1st gens in any condition selling for $4500-$10,000. That $7300 doesn't seem too far out there now. How big of a deal is it to have an intercooler if i don't plan on working it like a mule. I always have the 04 to tow with.

If it's just a play toy the intercooler is not really needed until you get into silly range on the power. Even then water-meth will work fine for EGT control over short bursts.
