Think I toasted the Injection Pump
I am pretty sure I toasted it. It was just like flipping on a switch. The truck now sounds like a cross between a 7.3 ford and a 2 cyllinder john deere! tested injectors first by sound, (loosen one, if sound changes injector is good) and number 2 cyllinder is getting fuel, but not enough pressure. I do want to check and see if there is any rubber left on my fuel shutdown solenoid before I take the ip off, but I will have another pump shortly. Any suggestions or ideas before I jump off the deep end?
Thanks!

I don't have the cash for that Austin. I will be taking the dv off, or maybe I should check and see if the solenoid still has it's rubber first. It still shuts the truck off.

Just kidding I thought I burned a valve, so I pulled the head off tonight. wrong again! My (Fel-Pro) head gasket was MIA between cylinder 1 and 2, causing major compression leakage, and a miss. I hope I never hear that sound again. Looking for a genuine Cummins gasket. Anyone know how to use an iske (spelling?) tool? It cuts a groove into the head that a copper wire fits into? I have access to one if I figure out how it works. lol

I am having the head checked out. should be done early next week. anybody know about iske tools!? Ordered a .020" over marine genuine CUMMINS gasket today. $150 shipped. Whatever. As long as it gets here before I go on vacation thurs, then it's back to school.
Do you think it will start as good in cold weather with the reduced compression of the thicker gasket?

I could probably put straight 30 weight in the crank case and leave it unplugged in 0 degree weather it would still start better than a powerstroke. lol
