Post tell tale signs of rotten Lift Pump

ok i have been having some problems with fuel in my oil ( i think ) is there any more signs that might point to one being out of date , such as loss of performance , on block leakage. but i dont have a fuel pressure gauge so that wouldnt really help.

lets just say i dont want to pay money to fix something thats not broke

Why do you think you have fuel in the oil? What are the symptoms?

Hard starting, poor performance, oil smells like fuel, big stain on the side of the engine under the pump. Any of that sound like your truck?

ok i have a bad leak in my turbo (need to fix) and for a while i had a bad leak on the valve covers till i changed the gaskets, but when i changed it, i refilled with 3 gallons, and it was in the middle of the safe mark on the dipstick, now leaks and less then 800 miles later i have maraculusly gained a quart to put it at the top of the safe mark, and the oil seems more runny, and smells different

Sounds like you should throw a lift pump at it.

Yes, it's a diaphragm pump made by Delphi (formerly known as AC Delco).

I bet it is the same part... but yes, at that price of $7x.xx chances are it is a diaphram.

piston lift pump upgrades are near 200 bucks.
