After all of the tank gallons vs, MPG ?'s goung on here, I wanna know....... IS MY TANK STOCK SIZE (30 Gal. as per the book??)
After a full-fill, I get abolut 200 miles before I am on the "E".
I know my sending unit is off b/c I just know...
Can anyone crawl under thier steed and give me an approximate dimension of their STOCK tank (30 gal'??)
Thanks in advance, I just do not trust my guage and I do not wanna run dry in the middle of BFE>

Yes, it is a 30 gallon tank.

Are they all factory 30 gallon tanks? When mine lit the low fuel warning, it only took about 23 gallons.

xtremex- that sounds right. you don't really wanna run it a whole lot past that. since the pump is cooled by the fuel the lower you run it the worse it is for the pump (i think, lol) 23gal with low fuel is pretty normal though.

I think that it says on the bottom of the tank how many gallons it holds. Mine does. A little stamp in the middle.

Word 'round the campfire is the low fuel light starts it's song and dance w/about 7 gallons left...

when the low fuel lit comes on, on my truck it's usualy 24-25 gals to fill it up...........the most i have ever put in my tank is 27 gal.and i was skeeerrd

According to my manual when the low fuel light comes on you have 1/6 of a tank (or 5 gal) of fuel left,after many fuel ups I found it to be pretty accurate(30 gal tank). unclemarc
