tailgate "Dodge" pannel

I've got a '91 D250. What is under that pannel on the tailgate that says "Dodge" on my truck? Does it come off easily? Are there raised letters that say Dodge on the tailgate? Can anyone send me a pic?
Just curious...

Jeff

If it is the wide one with the reflector strip on the top the only thing underneath is a bunch of half inch holes where the mounts go through the tailgate. The 8 or 10 screws on the inside are holding it on.

FYI Last year when I had my truck in the body shop, the stainless steel panel with DODGE and the reflective stripe was $700.00 from the dealer.

Yep, it's not pretty under there... but the paint will be the right color!

If I were you I would take it off and have a look. Its not too hard something like 12 screws hold it on from the inside of the tailgate. On my 92 W250 I took my off and other than the 12 holes it has DODGE RAM in raised letters. I was supprised but I like that look better so im keeping that cover off and going to figure out some amber LED's or something to put in all the holes.

amber lights on the rear of a vehicle are not legal, unless there only turn signals, not lite up any other time

I pealed the red reflective crap off of my old '93 and scotch brited the rest of the panel. Looked better than the half pealed version that is very common. I was going to paint it but never got around to it.
