Tackle this one: Instrument Cluster
When I purchased this truck over a year ago, the red gear selection indicator on my automatic was barely hangin' on.... finally fell off a month later...been shifting by either feel or counting amount of times till I hit the "drive" gear. Anyone attempt to fix this? Are there replacement parts? Carmyne

I think there might be an adjustment to it but not 100% sure. Not sure if it is under the column or just by adjusting the actual linkage will it move it a little. But falling off is a whole different ball game. I don't know if you could rig something up to make it work.
Maybe wire something to the actual gear lever and bend it up and around so the needle is somewhat close to where it should be. Might look back woods of a deal but it might work.

It's just a piece of string with a small cable with a metal hook on it.
If you look to the right side of the column you'll see a small bracket that moves with the shift lever. You can see it better with the truck in 1st. There is a cable that goes from the indicator assembly to the lever. It may have fallin out of the bracket or the cable may have broken.
Check out my site and it has a pic of the small cable and how to take the cluster out.

I'm thinking you could use some fishing line or something for a replacement

Worse case scenario, If the needle is lost, what do you reccomend I use/replace it with, other than going to the dealer and buying a replacement needle(part#??) Oh yeah, thank you. Carmyne
