Tach Hookup

Is there a spot to hook the tach up to on the engine already or do I have to install something when installing a tach. Any recommedations on a tach would be nice. I was think ing of a pillar mount small tach in with a couple other gauges.
Thanks
Todd
93' 4x4 Just Getting Started!

Firstly... Welcome Aboard!!! 8)

Yes there is a tach hookup on your rig. There is a 4 pin harness just above the steering column under the dash sort of behind the dash gauges.

Isspro makes a tach harness and tachometer to hook up to that existing connector and I believe you can get it in the 2 1/4" version for the gauge pods on the market.

If you do a search for this topic in this area, you will have more information than you need by others that have done the same thing.

Good luck..

J-eh

Re:Tach Hookup

I thought i'd ask this here. I've got a Dixco diesel tach thats supposed to hook to the alternator. Can I hook it into that factory tach wire and actually get a reading? Didn't want to burn it out by doing something dumb. Thanks Rick

Re:Tach Hookup

Being that the alternator pulses would be higher frequency, I am not sure that you could get it to calibrate properly to the engine speed. You could try it, I doubt it would hurt anything. THe tach signal is the Grey/blue wire I believe.

J-eh

Wildcat Diesel is another good spot, in Sask and supports this site. Give Rod a dingle and he won't steer you wrong..

www.wildcatdiesel.com

J-eh
