Stranded in Calgary! T-Case gonzo
So I left Monday to head to Calgary from home to visit a friend. After Winnipeg I could hear my t.case making more and more noise. Then finally just before Medicine Hat it got kinda bad. I managed to limp it all the way to Calgary but it's pretty well finished.
Now begins the ardent task of finding a replacement for a reasonable price (because that's all I can afford) and replacing it myself with a very limited set of tools, outside in the cold in the driveway! And I kinda need it done in a week to week and a half.
Anyone in the Calgary area have or know of a good used auto np205? that won't cost me an arm and a leg of course

Thanks Simply.
that one seems to be a divorced case though. Is the yoke over the input shaft or? I'm not entirely sure how that works with the divorced cases.
Plus, that's probably too far! :S
I did find another one on kijiji but I'm just waiting on a response back from the guy. Hopefully he doesn't want too much for it. He didn't list a price.
I'll probably give that Tim fellow a call.
Thanks.

update!
Tranny is toast too. Won't shift out of first and it slips pretty bad when you first try to go. Fluid looks about the same as motor oil that's got 10k miles on it. I don't think there was any fluid mixing or anything though. The fluid level is bang on right where it should be.
Looks like I'm towing it home some way or another and parking it for a good long while.

that's kinda what I was thinking. Although I do think some of the bearings in the transfer case are on their way out. It has almost 300k miles on it and 2 yeas ago the t.case was kinda run through the ringer when my truck was stolen. When I do the trans I'll probably do a rebuilt on the case too. It's not even $200 for a rebuild kit for the 205 so knocking off 2 birds with one stone seems like a good idea to me.

If it puked the O/D unit, it'll sound for the world like the T-case took a dump.
Check the t-case lube level, chances are if it's up, it's not a part of the problem.
Mark.
