Straight Pipin Time

Well I'm in a bit of a dilema. I've decided to go with straightpipes but theres a few things I'd like to question. What size pipe should I use, should I run duals or a single, and what's the best setup to go with? By that I mean, what's the best way to route it under there? I dont wanna do something then be told a better way down the road. Any diagrams would make life easier too

I bought a 4 inch kit with a 3 inch downpipe because at the time I couldn't find a 4 inch downpipe. I think that rip makes a 4 inch kit complete with the 4 inch downpipe. That's what I'd go with if I had it to do over.

i think diesels should be singles unless they are stacks. this is my opinion.

how much power are you looking for? from your previous posts, i would assume not crazy-wild-stopping-an-8-lane-highway-power so i would say 4" pipe.

some route theirs right in front of the passenger rear tire to achieve fewer bends from going up and over the axle. but you can dirty up your wheel and body fairly easily from the soot. personally, i am going to do the same as the factory, with a smoother transition on the downpipe cuz i dont like the "S".

So a single 4 it is then. I just wanted to know what would look best from others experiences before I went crazy and did something. But hey there's always lots of options out there. Thanks fellas

I remember reading a post of yours and I remember u saying that too big a pipe will make the exhaust stall and create back pressure. Wont the conversion from 4 to 5 do this, especially up here in the colder climates, during our winters?

I'd say an 8 when you get on it and wind it up. At idle it's a 6. My advice to people who are on the fence about straight piping is - If you think it might be too loud for you, it will be too loud for you.
