Steering... How to improve it?
Now as many of you know... The steering on these trucks isn't all that spectacular especailly when you're doing alot of ROUGH driving. 9 chances out of 10, the couple on the power steering pump get's the guts beat out of it and possibly the pump itself blows a seal. When this happens the whole handling on the truck tends to suck and isn't necessarily the best.
I was pondering over getting a Borgeson double jointed steering shaft from Piers for 278 odd dollars but would like to know how others have dealed with them. Also if there are any other suggestions on how to improve handling/steering ability on these old trucks, speak up.
Thanks, Mike

Just make sure you have splines above the rag joint before you order the double-jointed shaft. Some trucks had the upper coupler splined on, while some were pressed/tack-welded. Other than worn tie-rod and drag link ends, it is wise to remove the steering box and plate and check the frame for cracks.
