Steering box mtng reinforcement plate?

Is there any new info on a reinforcement plate for the steering box mounting?

The project truck has developed a crack and I would like to see an improved part rather than just a replaced part if there is anything out there.

Thanks!

Do you have a brace or looking for one?

Here is one:

I have one sitting at home, looks like it could have been alittle bit beefier when comparing it to the brace for my old chevy.

Greetings Garbage Mechanic.

You could solve the problem all together by using the system dodge orignally engineered for our 4x4 trucks - a Cast Iron Mount with Reverse Rotation Box. This tourques the frame in it's strongest direction. To cut cost, in the late 70's Chrysler devised a way to use the 2wd steering gear on 4wd trucks too - normalizing parts across more vehicles.

The brace above is handy to have- but it was just a patch used on some trucks almost arbitrarily to give some more lateral rigidity to the frame. I in fact have these on both of my 4x4 trucks to save the rivets up front if nothing else.

I've you've ever been around big trucks - they're set up a similar way. Some heavy and severe duty trucks have two reverse rotation boxes - one for each side of the frame...
Look at any 4x4 Power wagon W100-W400 from 72 - ~77. Ramchargers/Traildusters have these as well.

This setup works excellent on stock height rigs. If you are going to sky it out as they say - just bolt the box to the frame in the 2wd position and do a crossover steering setup...

The only picture I have of this setup is below. I can take some later. I have a spare setup waiting to get put in my '93 as well.
