There was a company on ebay that was listing the auxilliary tanks with all the wiring and hardware to make it work with the oem guage, but I can't find it now. I think they where in Texas, I was going to get a 65 gal tank until momma told me what we owe in fed and state taxes , I think tank, hardware and wiring was like $900.00, but on thier website they listed for over $1300.00. I'll keep looking and see if I can find it, because after writing those checks, I'm going to take a LONG ride and SCREAM

Yeah these things ain't cheap. I have a fifth wheel camper I haul and a saddle tool box that has to come along. The tank has to fit in front of the fifth wheel hitch and behind the tool box. Pretty limited space. I am thinkin about an L shaped aluminum tank. I am goin to call a guy tomorrow and see how much he wants to fabricate one to my specs. I figure I can get one the size I want and will hold about 105 to 110 gal of diesel. That would be just the tank I want. That would give me about 140 gallons topped off. That will take me a very long way even with the camper.

The ideas given are correct on the water problem,so the only thing check your local laws, its illeagal to run a pickup here with over 100 gallons, its rarely inforced but i have seen it done.

any good welder can make you a "water" tank, and make it fit where you want it. just make sure he/she is a good welder. insist on seeing a pressure test done.

I would never install any fuel tank, but especially not a diesel tank, that didn't have a drain in it that would collect water and other contaminants. Also, I was always told to stay away from treatments that absorb water into the fuel, as the absorbed water can cause wear in the injection pump.

As long as it is a transfer tank and not connected to the truck permanently, there shouldn't be any restrictions on capacity other than GVW Or do you need a hazmat placard and CDL ?
