starwheel AFC boost setting

what does everyone have their starwheel st to start fueling at? I was reading info over at alldata on a tsb for low power and it went through a procedure to adjust the starwheel initial pressure should be between 2 and 2.5 psi. Looked at mine today and made a grease mark on the pin ran it up to 5psi and took a picture. will experiment more to see when full pin travel is reached. Also does anyone know what the box is on the drivers side under the hood spring is I see it has a vacuum line connected to it?

Also has anyone compared the fueling and power curves or fuel rates between having starwheel all the way down and fuel screw out as opposed to in more on the fuel screw and starwheel up.

My star wheel is as high as I can have it without running into coil bind. That's how I suggest running any truck with big injectors.

You don't want full fuel out of POD's with only 5 psi of boost.

The box is the low vacuum warning sensor.

The "box" on the fender is the "vacuum sensor", it turns on the BRAKE light on the information cluster if your vacuum is below 8 in.

Sorry I can't help you with your fuel pin questions.

Thanks for the info, I will run the starwheel up more, should allow me to run the fuel screw in more. Does anyone now spring rate of the silver spring? looking for the psi range of the fuel pin so if it starts to drive the pin down at 10 psi at what psi would it be at full travel.

I have my star wheel all the way down with 190 injectors, but that shouldn't make any difference in valet mode...does the fuel pin move down at all without the boost pressure pushing it?

No, if there is no boost in the AFC the pin will stay up.
