starting woes

Well my truck wont start. i can hear the solenoid click and it tries to turn over and gets a 10th of a turn and halts. I've changed the battery and had it on charge all day still nothing, gotta check the connection on the starter tomorrow but i was wondering if there is anything else i should check at the same time thanks

You did not say if the battery had a full charge after charging. Put a volt meter on it and you should have 12.5 to more than 13 volts on a good battery. It sounds like something simple...Good luck Mark

checked the battery and it was 12.8, I cleaned the terminals on the starter and the battery, I really think the starter motor is dead (had that lovely smoked winding smell today).

Check voltage drop through the cables before condemning the starter.
