ok, found it in an earlier thread.... these are all long work box

Regular Cab 131
Club Cab 149
Crew Cab 165

my custom extended is SUPPOSED to be a regular cab plus 36 inches. that puts me at 167. i will have to measure everything to be sure, but do you guys think i could make a Crew Cab work on this frame? at some point it may be nice to have 4 doors instread of 2 and also it would look a little less goofy! let me know what you think. thanks.

Absolutely. Might have to fab some rear cab mounts, but that's no biggy. Probly the same as the ones on the regular cabs etc. No just have to find one .

Howdy,

I don't see why not...although with two inches difference you might have to shift the bed on it's mounts to make it look legit.

I'd say you just grab whatever you need from the crewcab...

Pull the mounts and brackets from the crewcab frame when you grab the cab nad you should be set.

Everything is the same, front doors are the same as the ones found on club and regular cabs. The only odd ball is the rear doors. They are one of a kind. Body lines will match though. There is a 1st gen crew cab at a junkyard locally, front clip and cab, and doors are there, but the rest is gone. Not sure what'd they want. I can get your there number if you like.

The frame on crew cab is different than a regular or Club cab. The "belly" (area under the drivers seat) of the frame is longer on the Crew cab. Where was your frame streched? behind the cab or under the drivers seat? If it was streched behind the cab you will need to either modify the rear floor or use a 3" body lift to clear the frame ( I did a '80 D 300 w/3"lift, looked alright) I will take some measurments and pics of my frame and post them later.

I came across a 78 crew cab , only the cab and all doors and glass. I have a 93 regular cab now. thinking of the same stretch. do a frame splice? and the rest of the sheet metal will fit ok?

I'm in a slow process of doing a 85 crew with my 91 parts. Looking at my 79 crew I would have to say the rear doors are the same on both 85 and 79. The front doors, fenders, and hood are not. But you should not have a problem installing front clip to the cab. If you are looking for a 79 crew to be used as a donor I have one.
