I tryed the lift pump to prime it but i ge no pressure on the lever. I turn the motor over to different spots and try the pump and still no pressure on the lever, It is like it does nothing. How do I test a lift pump please help

Before you throw a lift pump at it, use an air hose and a shop rag in the filler neck to (very lightly) pressurize the fuel tank. We are not pressure testing it - we just want a little positive pressure in there. This will show up any leaks between the tank and the lift pump. It could be as simple as a rusty fuel line or a cracked hose.
To test the lift pump independent of the fuel system, put a short piece of hose on the inlet side of the pump and drop the free end in a coffee can of fuel. Open the bleed screw and pump the primer lever. If you get non-foamy fuel after a couple strokes the pump is working.

Check the fuel lines for air leaks as I suggested above.
That's free, a lift pump costs money. If the lines are good and the lift pump won't pull fuel from a can of diesel, then the lift pump is bad.
