Speedometer Gear Reducer
I have a 92 W350 with a five speed. The shaft that drives my speedometer gear reducer coming off the transfer case is broken, does anyone know where I can get another gear reducer or parts for mine. The local dodge dealer said they can't get the part anymore. Thanks for the help

I just ordered one for my from my local dodge dealer last fri.
It did take a little digging to find it but if you find a good dealership I am shure they can, find what you need the parts guy had a hard time finding it in the parts look-up.

Not sure about all the numbers off the top of my head. truck has 4:10 rear end, dealer says according to vin # truck came with 235/85/16 tire, but it's a single wheel and my guess is that it came with 245/75/16 tires. one number on the reducer is 1.0400 can't remember the other. if you need more info let me know and i'll pull the reducer to double check the numbers, thanks for the help.

Looks like I need to know the tooth count on the speedo gear. I have it narrowed down to two different ones but it depends on that tooth count. 28 tooth is a part number 53009220 and the other which is a 14 tooth count is number 1797170 which unfortunatley not avialable any longer but may be the part number will help you in your search assuming that's the one you have. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help, but I fixed the one I have. If anyone else ever breaks the shaft from the reducer to the drive gear in the transfer, there is a shaft in the tail housing of a 350 turbo automatic transmission that will work, it is an identical shaft.

Are you talking about the little square shaft in the adapter that screws into the transfer-case??
If so, I took mine apart and made a replacement out of a (I think) 3/16" Allen wrench.
I cut it to length, machined a groove for the retainer, and machined the remainder square to fit the speedometer drive.
