some more Q's on what to do next

My dad's truck, the one in the sig is ready for some more mods. He likes the power but not the around town mileage. I know there is some other injectors out there with 6 holes instead of 4 like the POD's. They are supposed to get the same power but less smoke and I was wondering about better mileage. I'm also looking at stan's 4" exaust and a turbo upgrade. Stage IV from HTT or a different turbo be better. The only other thing I can think of is a torque converter from Goerend and a different air filter, BHAF or a AEM dry flow made to fit.

The truck travels empty alot around town and to work, about 60 miles one way. For any loads it hauls firewood ocasionally and a dump trailer now and then.

Thanks,

Owen

Torque convertor, compressor upgrade or bigger turbo perhaps.

I picked up one mpg in town when I went POD's to 6x16's. You can buy a lot of fuel for what a good set of injectors costs...

I'd say tranny upgrades to transfer the power better- convertor and valve body.
Get the injectors pop tested/ cleaned/ reset. PDR has some 5 hole automotive 190s that are supposed to be real nice- low smoke, same/better MPGs, if you'd rather go that route.
Set your timing to a more conservative level- 1.4-1.6mm. Adjust valves, install fuel pressure gauge. Dont go crazy on the turbo- too big, and you'll actually lose bottom end and thus, in town MPGs.

Tranny has been rebuilt and valve body done, but need to do torque converter still. Dad just had a stock replacement put in and is now kicking himself. I was telling him a tc would be a good thing, exhaust, and a compressor upgrade. I like picking people's brains though for what they've done and what works. I've adjusted the valves about 5-10k ago, same time I put in the injectors and did some other stuff. I've still got a gen 2 flex plate sitting in the garage for when I get a new tc for it.

I'm the mechanic for Dad and others so I do the foot work too.

Thanks guys,

Owen

Call Dave Goerend about making a custom converter for your application, one of the best in the business for dodge transmissions. (563) 778-2719

Another cheap install would be a valet switch. I noticed that it smokes less and the fuel mileage is a little better when I run with the valet.
