Just get yourself a nice Western 8.5' MVP like me! They made the unimount MVP for a couple years... Nice and simple swap, just have to change out a couple pieces of wiring and get a new controller.

My truck came with a 7.5' straight blade which served me well for the first winter. Then I stumbled upon the V plow last summer and ever since then I'll never go back to a standard straight blade. Couldn't be happier!

I'll be repeating this once I switch over. It all depends on if / when we ever get any snow. Since I work on a "need to" basis for all of my customers, I don't make any money without any snow. No One will sign seasonals here, as they have experienced the "no snow here" syndrome.

Ah very nice, I'm in Morris county up in the mountains haha.

I used to keep the boat in Monmouth beach and then in Redbank.

One day we may be neighbors.... that is if the ball and chain will leave this place. We just hiked Torne Park. Nice area to live in.

Blade is an 89 Boss 8'2" V, and was sold new attached to what was supposedly the 61st Cummins Dodge according to the PO of both trucks. The vin did end in 00061, so, it was entirely possible.

That looks tiny next to Taterfarmer's Big Black Blade. LOL

Me Gusto Mucho....

I recently purchased a MVP plow such as the one you have there. It has less than 100 hours on it, and almost no wear. It has been sitting for nearly 10 years, but all the parts remain new looking on it, as it wasn't exposed to much other than sunlight.

Since Western never made the Ultramount truckside for our trucks, I'm not able to put it on my truck without some modifications or custom fabrication of a mount bracket.

I was thinking of modifying my unimount bracket, by attaching Ultramount mounts to the bottom of it, so that I could essentially use both plows on the same mount, by just attaching them to each respective mount.. Any thoughts with reference this ? I realize that I'd have two wiring setups under the hood, but I think there's enough room under there to do so.

I have an Ultramount plow on my truck. I bought it because it seemed to leave the most clearance of any of the mounting systems with the plow removed. I bought a new 7.5' (I had my reasons, but they were bad) plow and got a used mount from a '90's Chevy -- pre '88 would have been better -- and fabricated the shoes for the receivers from it to the frame.

The unimount hangs down much lower than the ultramount, so I really think the way to go is cut most of the plow side away from your unimount, graft on some ultramount shoes (the parts the "receivers" pin into), and then buy an adapter Unimount Adapter to use your old unimount plow on the ultramount shoes . . .

And, yes, I am procrastinating at this very moment, instead of plowing the driveway . . .

EDIT:
Now that they are approved, a couple not very good pics:

I've been plowing non-commercially with this set up for 9 years, and it has held up well. FWIW, I painted the mount with POR-15 back then, too. Not all of it was blast clean, but you can see it didn't hold up in the long run.
