Barring tool is the most important, followed by injector bore brush. You can make the low idle wrench, an "S" wrench from Harbor Freight does fine on the bottom pump nut, and VW parts sites sell the timing adapter much cheaper. It would be nice to have all the Snap-on specialty tools, but unless you got a big gift certificate it's gonna be expensive. And I'd rather have a nice set of screwdrivers or a good ratchet that I would use all the time than tie up a bunch of money in some overpriced specialty tools that I only use occasionally.
Just my $0.02.
Just my $0.02.

I agree with wanna, the whole kit is pretty pricey. I do have the injector puller its worth the money. But it will get used on more than just my truck. They have a really nice 3/8 80 tooth locking flex head ratchet, I wouldn't go without mine!

Yhea that wont buy you the service kit! When I got mine back 3ish years ago it was 800 and change discounted. Go talk to a snap on guy and pick and choose what you want. Like others have said Barring tool maybe an injector puller and then other things that catch your fancy while on the truck. Good luck 400 goes real fast while on a truck.
