shocks
I'm looking around rock auto and autozone, they both have some Gabriels, rock for 20 each, and zone for 17. THe ones on rock are a close-out and may be better, I don't know. They have listings for with and without the heavy package. Is the heavy package coded in the VIN, or just on the door sticker? If it's just the door sticker, that could be a problem, because it was painted over at some point. Or should I just get the ones for the heavy package and not worry about it?
This thing is a bit squirrelly at times so I need to get new ones under it.
Also, what does the door sticker say to run for PSI in the front?
Thanks

You have the heavy package, it's on all diesels.
40 - 45 psi depending on load is the spec. I found I needed 70 PSI to keep from chewing the edges off before the centers, that's with 235/85-15 E range tires. With 215/85-16 D range tires, 85 psi wasn't enough to keep them from getting tore up. Same type of 215/85's have run for several years out back at 40 psi with no trouble.

Thanks. I know I ran 40 in the front and 27 in the rear empty on my 01 half ton, and my friend's powerstroke says something like 80rear and 45 front for max load. I had E's on my half ton and it was still dark in the center and light on the edges when I did a burnout, but I wasn't going any lower in the rear.
Sounds like autozone needs to update their computers, when the diesel is spec'ed they shouldn't list anything but the shock for the heavy package.
