Shackle flip?

Well I've been thinkin about doin a shackle flip for a while now. The reason I want to do this is so I can get rid of my blocks in the rear and can pull in other classes that don't allow trac bars. I got a few questions though.

Should I drop the front hangar also? I need about 7" total lift to retain the ride hight I'm at now.

Does any one have pics of a shackle flip on a 1st gen? I remember DNR made some spring hangars but I can't find the pics now (I'm not to good at searching).

Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?

You can run the dodge rear springs in my hangers or the 56" chevy springs. You can also run any lift spring you want. The hangers/shackle flip will give about 4 3/4" lift on a 80s RC.

I would feel comfortable staying at the 3.5" drop over stock. Here is a few pics of a set of 3.5" ones I just did not to long ago.

Pulltilbroke--i was going to do the same shackle lift on my '77 pull so I can run stiff springs and clear the tires. I would lift the front and rear of the rear springs the same to keep the angles right.

On a truck not used for pulling or wheelin. 99% street driven, is there any advantage to a shackle flip/dropped mounts vs new springs to eliminate the lift block?

I think the ride would be much nicer with a shackle flip vs. lift springs to eliminate the lift block. Better articulation too...
