Serial Number for a Tach... ?
Well here's the thing... I went to my local Dodge dealer, asked if they had the actually designed tach for my 93 diesel and they found nothing at all. So I figured, if someone gave me the serial number I just might be able to get one afterall, lol. So if someone has the number let me know.
Thanks to all,
Mike

Mopar Tach part #82400711...good luck finding one . I have some folks I know who work for Dodge dealer`s in the parts dept and so far no dice. You can try ebay but the couple i have seen went for insane $$$$ for what yer actually getting, not worth it IMO. You can get an Autometer or Isspro for 1/2 what they go for on ebay...thats if you can find one.

I've come to notice that buying parts for any diesel around here is like finding needles in a haystack. I mean ****, I've tried almost every auto parts store and dealer that I can think of. I dont really approve of buying off the net and if there were some way to get around it I'd rather prefer it. What about buying straight from Cummins? Buying gauges and such... would they be your best bet? Mail order or whatever

I have a Dixco, runs off of the alternator. Got it at NAPA. But they got it from a supplier called Grandwest. You might try an accessory place, where they sell "gingerbread" for trucks. Good Luck!

We got a NAPA here but there's a BIT of a problem. And before I say this dont think I'm being sexist but... it's run by a bunch of women who dont have a sweet clue what they're doing! Hence the reason why our UAP's going down the toilet. I might go in there but I'm afraid of coming out with a headache. One way to find out though... I guess, lol

Jay,
When I bought my 91.0 new, I purchased the tach kit. If I remeber right..the early kit included the sensor and a harness section not included in the later tach package because they were already installed from the factory. I remeber adding a sensor down by the oil pan.
