wow great info! a buddy of mine has a 94. i did like when his tq locked up. dropped rpm's a lot! i still have to save some money up before i can ever do the swap im just getting ready. its the first major thing im going to do to my truck

a518 o/d is .69 non lockup. put a good 89% or so converter in your auto and you'll have a sweet cruiser with a 3.55 rear. Or go 47rh with LOCKUp and a good converter and then you'll have a huge advantage over a 5 speed... there is drivetrain loss in a 5 speed too. just not as much as an auto

5 speed is .77 o/d

nv4500 and nv5600 come out to the same o/d... the 2-3-4 gears are just spaced out closer then a nv4500... basicly more shifting for nothing unless you tow...

thanks crossy i was wondering about the numbers. im leaning towards the 47rh and maybe later just buy a different truck with a 5spd
