Ok. All this being said, which is the best route? Using the facotry wire harness and using the Isspro hardware? Or it it just as good to run out to the parts store and get an alternator driven tach?

The factory wire harness would be the easiest route, if you have one.

well i just installed a sunpro super tach II and set it to 4cyl and hooked it to the harness.works just fine, rock steady, and just 38.20 at autozone. if cheaps your thing

I don't think they make a 3 pod pillar mount for the first gen dodges. I've heard of guys buying the dual pod and a single pod and mounting them together to get three in a row.

JC Whitnay sells a universal triple gauge pod.

Here is a link, the picture shows a dual pod but it is a triple.
